- The annual "Chanukah on the River" event was held on Sunday, Dec. 5 at the San Antonio River Walk. In attendance was San Antonio's Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who lit the first candle on the menorah as the crowd echoed Hanukkah blessings. A mariachi band also sang Hanukkah tunes as people sang and clapped along. Rabbi Chaim Block "hopes that every person who joined in this celebration walks away knowing they are important and have a purpose in this world no one else can fill." He said that's the message of Hanukkah. For more details and to see a video of the event, visit: (KSAT San Antonio)
