Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:
- Now that the warm weather is here, it's time to enjoy the great outdoors, and there are many ways to do that in San Antonio! "From a free tree giveaway to Earth Day celebrations," there's something for everyone! Meredith Tilley, Assistant Parks and Recreation Manager, "shares what you need to know to take part in the fun" in a video that you can see by visiting: (FOX 29)
- According to a report by Stacker, an "online data analysis and media company," Keystone School located at 119 E Craig Pl. is "one of the best schools in Texas." The private school "which teaches grades pre-K through 12th," was ranked the 10th best high school in Texas and was the only one in San Antonio to place in the top 10. Stacker's list was based on "student and teacher reviews, test scores and college attendance figures" obtained by Niche, an online ranking site. For more information visit: (San Antonio Current)
- In 1988, 7-year-old Jennifer Sue Delgado was murdered "by a random man after he got frustrated with a vending machine at a laundromat" on Westrock Drive, located on the west side of town. The man stabbed the young girl and her mother, who was the only one that survived. Since then, a classmate of Jennifer's named Christopher Palmer, has been raising funds to have a portion of the street named in Jennifer's honor. Palmer said, "In October of 2021, I had raised enough money and I submitted my application with the city of San Antonio and went throughout the various departments and finally went to City Council." He added, "I'm so very happy it got approved." Soon part of Westrock Drive where the laundromat was located will be named Jennifer Sue Delgado Memorial Way. Delgado said, "This is kind of closure for me just that her memory, you know who she was is never forgotten and in the hopes that someday maybe some information will come forward." The case remains unsolved and only a sketch of the suspect exists, but if you have any information, please contact the San Antonio Police Department's Cold Case Tip Line.
