- On Wednesday, June 8, a congregation from San Antonio's Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1001 N. Walters, "released around 400 balloons in honor of mass shooting victims since 1999." For a news video of the event, please visit: (KSAT San Antonio)
- The weekend is almost here, and if you're not sure yet what you're going to do yet, there is actually a lot going on in town! - Free beer is back at SeaWorld San Antonio from now until Sunday, Aug. 7! The perk is for "season and annual pass holders who are 21 years old and older" and includes "one complimentary beer per visit." Byron Surrett, president of SeaWorld, said, "Allowing our pass members to have a cold and refreshing brew on us while enjoying all of the other fantastic attractions that SeaWorld has to offer is a way of expressing our gratitude for being loyal supporters of our park, its conservation and rescue initiatives, and its events." - On Saturday, June 11, the annual "step out to cure Scleroderma 5K walk" will take place at Woodlawn Lake, located at 1103 Cincinnati Ave. "This year's 5K is in honor Jovana Placido" who "battled the incurable auto-immune disease" most of her life and "was an advocate for many patients across our community." Unfortunately, she passed away in 2021 "after her long fight with a rare cancer." The walk will kick off at 8 a.m. with TV journalist, Camilla Rambaldi as the emcee. - New medical care and education projects are "underway within the next few years" in San Antonio. One will be "a new public health school in the medical center area, a joint venture by UTSA and UT Health San Antonio." Another one planned in the next three years is a "$30 million medical building" to be located by "Texas A&M University-San Antonio." Yet another one will be "a $10 million clinical facility" which will be located "on the east or west side" of town, although an exact site has not been determined yet.
