Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:

  1. Fuerza Unida, a local nonprofit headquartered at 710 New Laredo Highway, hosted a Thanksgiving food drive on Monday morning. Members and volunteers distributed boxes filled with turkeys and side dishes. "We have a lot of families that are living paycheck to paycheck," said Maggie Mullins, projects coordinator. She added, "It means a lot to them to just have that stress taken off their back and it also means a lot to them to just know that somebody in the organization in the community is caring about them." Happy Thanksgiving! (KSAT San Antonio)
  2. Eggnog And Peppermint And Christmas Cookie, Oh My! Texas-based Blue Bell ice cream released the three holiday-inspired flavors, which come in half-gallon sizes and are available in stores right now. "The Eggnog rendition features eggnog-flavored French ice cream, flecks of nutmeg and a whipped topping," a news release states. "The Christmas Cookies flavor is loaded with chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and sugar cookies, and the Peppermint includes — you guessed it — peppermint candy pieces." Start your Christmas early and enjoy them all today. (San Antonio Current)
  3. Something New Is Brewing In Town: Brevity Coffee Co. expands in San Antonio with two locations, at 8802 Huebner Road and 5985 De Zavala Road and they plan to open two more in 2022. Besides coffee, the drive-thru coffee business serves milkshakes, smoothies, Italian sodas and more. To hear more about the coffee venues, watch and enjoy the video on: (KENS5.com)
  4. The City Is 'Alive With The Sound Of Music!' For you all music lovers and fans, this week "there will be plenty of nourishment for your ears and the selections are as diverse as they are delicious." The music shows will be from Tuesday, Nov. 23 - Sunday, Nov. 28 and will include performers such as Steve Aoki, Intocable, eLZhi and many more. For a complete list, as well as for times, locations and costs, please visit: (San Antonio Current)
  5. San Antonio comedian Larry Garza didn't think he'd still be around by now. After being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2016, he started to plan his memorial. Instead, now he's now planning his own roast — "The Roast of Larry Garza Comedian with Cancer" — that he'll be able to attend. The 40-year-old performer "has been open about his cancer battle" and even "incorporated his experiences into his standup routines." When he was planning his memorial, he said "If I'm going to die, I'm going to die laughing." Now, he said "Instead of a memorial, it's a celebration of life." The 8 p.m. show will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club, located at 618 N.W. Loop 410. Tickets are $15 each and are available online.
