Good day, neighbors! Gabriela Couvillion here with today's edition of the San Antonio Daily.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and more humid. High: 85 Low: 63.

Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:

  1. Celebrate Halloween with your pet at San Antonio's Barbecutie Smokehouse Howl-O-Ween party on Saturday, Oct. 30 from noon to 4 p.m. The restaurant, located at 5603 Presidio Parkway, will feature "live music, festivities for pups and their humans, and a costume contest with awards for cutest pup costume, cutest kid costume, and cutest family theme costumes. And, of course, there will be barbecue." The event benefits San Antonio Pets Alive, a local nonprofit organization that helps end "the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopters, or fosters." Enjoy this pet-friendly event and have a howling good family time! (culturemap.com)
  2. Jump for fun at the "World's Biggest Bounce House" during the Big Bounce America Tour in San Antonio at the Helotes Festival Grounds! The event will be held from Nov. 12-14 and will feature the world's biggest bounce castle, the Sports Slam inflatable sports arena, a 900-foot long obstacle course called The Giant, and "an out-of-this-world feature called airSPACE, which includes a 25-foot inflatable alien, slides, and ball pits." The whole family will have a jumping good time! (mySA)
  3. There's a lot brewing in San Antonio for all you coffee lovers! Oregon-based Dutch Bros is opening up several locations in town! Besides the location on 8614 Potranco Road, which opened up in September, another location will be opening in March 2022 at 7962 Bandera Road in Leon Valley. "The Universal City location at 1000 Kitty Hawk Road is opening on Oct. 27. The Dutch Bros at 5398 Walzem Road, 4527 Rittiman Road, and 6024 West Adams Ave." are opening soon. (Laredo Morning Times)
  4. If you haven't tried Birria tacos, you're in for something deliciously exciting! Birria tacos, made with rustic chile-laden stew, are actually one of the world's top 5 food trends, according to a social media study. Online researchers based their results on "the number of views on TikTok videos with hashtags mentioning a specific food or cuisine plus the number of Instagram posts using the same hashtag. They also counted up those items' global Google searches between June 2020 and May 2021." It's easy to find birria tacos in San Antonio, as there are plenty of San Antonio restaurants that feature the tasty dish. Try it! You'll probably like it! (San Antonio Current)
  5. There's still time to experience the Frida Kahlo Oasis in San Antonio. The San Antonio Botanical Garden exhibit will be here for two more weeks. "The Frida Kahlo Oasis occupies 2,100 square feet at the heart of the Botanical Garden bringing to San Antonio a captivating rendition of the artist's iconic blue home, Casa Azul." There will also be an event titled Noches de Frida, which will honor the life and death of the artist. Food and drinks, "including cash bars and specially prepared picnic baskets," will be available for purchase and there will also be "performances by local DJs." Take the family to the San Antonio Botanical Garden at 555 Funston Place on Thursday, Oct.21 and Thursday, Oct.28 from 6 to 9 p.m., and don't forget your lawn chairs and blankets! (WOAI)
