Julian Castro Endorses Elizabeth Warren's Presidential Bid
Just days after the former mayor of San Antonio suspended his campaign, he announced support for the Massachusetts senator.
Julian Castro, the former mayor of San Antonio and the former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, endorsed Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren in her 2020 bid for the presidency. The endorsement comes just days after Castro suspended his own campaign after failing to garner enough support in the polls or donations to make recent Democratic debates.
Castro announced his support of Warren on Twitter, saying they share a vision of America where "everyone counts."
Today I'm proud to endorse @ewarren for president. Elizabeth and I share a vision of America where everyone counts. An America where people—not the wealthy or well-connected—are put first. I'm proud to join her in the fight for big, structural change. pic.twitter.com/xDvMEKqpF3

A former San Antonio mayor who was the only Latino in the race, Castro stalled for most of his campaign around 1% in polls and entered October low on money. He launched his campaign a year ago.
