LULAC wants everyone living in San Antonio to understand that the time to get counted is now. Current data shows that households on the east side are lagging in self-response with some census tracts only having 42% self-response, which are lower than the City rate of 60% self-response. Overall in San Antonio, the Bureau will have to knock on more doors than it anticipated due to the lower than expected self-response rates to date.
As a trusted voice in the community LULAC is committed to ensuring a complete count by raising awareness that the census is safe, easy and important. Although the Bureau has started collecting data door-to-door, there is still time to respond on your own from the safety of your home either online, by phone or by mailing back the paper form.
