Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:
- The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo starts next week, and of the funniest and favorite events during that time is the Mutton Bustin' competition, which is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24. The contest is open for children ages 4-7 who weigh less than 55 lbs. "To register to win a spot for your young buckaroo, please go to the KENS 5 app from now until Friday, Feb. 11." Good luck and happy Rodeo y'all! (KENS5.com)
- The San Antonio Spurs recently unveiled their medal for Fiesta 2022, which will take place from Thursday, March 31 to Sunday, April 10. Their medal depicts the Spurs' 2022 City Edition jersey, which has turquoise, fuchsia and orange colors and is a tribute to "the organization's rich legacy with a nod to the future." - The city is alive with sound of live music this week! From prog-metal to blues-rock, to country and pop, there's something for everyone to enjoy! For a list of dates and performers, as well as venues and ticket information, please visit: (San Antonio Current)
- This year, a "massive upscale bowling and entertainment mecca" is coming to San Antonio! "After a two-year delay caused by the pandemic," construction of Dallas-based Pinstack has finally begun, and it should be "open sometime in the 3rd quarter of 2022" at 742 NW Loop 410, Suite 201. The venue will feature "28 state-of-the-art bowling lanes with lane-side food and beverage service, a stacked game room, hundreds of video games and virtual reality setups, a 24-foot-tall LED-lit rock-climbing wall with six climbing lanes of varying challenge levels, a dangling 20-foot-high ropes obstacle course, laser tag, and bumper cars." Last week, we told you about our new favorite non-alcoholic go-to — the refreshingly bitter drinks from our partners at Betera. They're chef-created from natural botanicals, lightly effervescent and worthy of life beyond "Dry January." We mentioned that their Ginger-Orange was excellent; we've since tried Elderflower-Lime and loved it as well — light and floral with the perfect amount of zing. We're converts.
Enough of you took Betera up on their 15 percent discount on first orders for Patch Daily readers that they've extended the offer for another week. Use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — try Betera here.
