- Get ready beer fanatics! Man Overboard Brewing Co. is set to open next month near San Antonio's Pearl complex at 1203 Camden St., just walking distance "from the north-of-downtown shopping and dining destination!" The brewery is owned and operated by Navy veteran Ron Merriman and his family — wife Cindy, son Justin and daughter-in-law Irene. They plan to hold a soft opening on Black Friday and will officially open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 4. To read more about this exciting new place, visit: (San Antonio Current)

- The annual Diwali Festival is returning to downtown San Antonio to celebrate the beautiful Indian culture and tradition in the Alamo City. The celebration also known as The Festival of Lights "represents the triumph of good over evil — or light over darkness." There will also be traditional Indian dance, food and music, as well as a bazaar. The free event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 6-10 p.m. at the Hemisfair, located at 434 S. Alamo St. For more details, visit: (San Antonio Current)
- 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' at San Antonio's Westover Hills Church. Located at 9340 Westover Hills Blvd. in the Westover Sports Complex, the church will hold "their first-ever Field of Lights event" featuring 300,000 synchronized Christmas lights accompanied by holiday music. They will also have kid-friendly activities and Santa Claus will be there to take pictures. The event will open on Friday, Nov. 26 and will run weekends through Sunday, Dec. 19.
