  1. There is still lots of celebrating going on during Pride Month, as June isn't over yet! On Saturday, June 25, the "Pride Bigger Than Texas Parade" on "Main Street was lined with the colors of the rainbow as people joined to celebrate and stand together." Del Rio mayor Bruno Lopez was there, and said, "Well, being visible for the community is absolutely important, especially now with what's going on with the Supreme Court. Another attendee, Josey Garcia, said, "Yesterday we witnessed overruling of a Supreme Court ruling that could potentially affect our LGBTQIA+ community and families and so it's very important that all of us come out today and show support and stand together as one to help drive forward a more positive future for our community." (KSAT San Antonio)
  2. San Antonio's VFW Post 76 is "the oldest military post in Texas," and on Saturday, June 25, local veterans celebrated "its 105th anniversary." In addition to the celebration, the group decided "to stand with the community of Uvalde" after last month's shooting tragedy at Robb Elementary School. Mike Toreno, Post 76 Service Officer, said, "We are collecting donations for food plates for the community of Uvalde, and we will go down later this week and visit our comrades that are there and the community and just say that we are thinking about them." (FOX 29)
  3. A new 21,000 square foot fire station on the west side of San Antonio "will "provide fire and emergency services to roughly 165,000 people" in town. The station, "located on Omicron Drive, right near the intersection of Potranco and 211, is set to cover 65 square miles of the district." According to fire officials, this "is the first completed fire station of many more to come for the district." (FOX 29)
  4. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office in Austin recently "hosted its first eviction prevention clinic." The seminar provided attendees with educational information "on the legal rights of tenants, and unlawful actions taken by landlords," as well as "on various rental assistance programs." Sheriff Javier Salazar said, "the county plans on holding free seminars like this in the future" and explained "his reasoning behind setting up these free seminars" on FOX 29.
