Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:
- The San Antonio Chamber of Commerce reflects on a "challenging but productive 2021" and looks forward to a "busy, exciting, and fruitful 2022." Like many local organizations, they have been "working hard to continue to make a difference, despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic" and want to ensure that in 2022 they "focus on the right things during a year that will be key to our city's economic recovery." For that, they ask you to please complete their Survey with your concerns and how the Chamber and Board can help. For more details, please visit: (Press Release Desk)
- This past November, San Antonio was one of five Texas cities "named 'All-Stars' by the Human Rights Campaign, which used data from its Municipal Equality Index to prove that this state contains some deeply needed safe havens for its LGBTQIA citizens." The city received a perfect score of 100, "exceeding state expectations and proving that smaller governments can break away from state hang-ups." - West-Texas based Marfa Spirit Co. recently launched its Chihuahuan Desert Sotol in collaboration with Sotol Don Celso in Janos, Mexico, and it is now available in San Antonio. "The spirit is distilled south of the border, then processed and bottled inside Marfa's 1920's-era Godbold Feed Mill-turned-distillery." The debut product has "herbaceous and earthy notes with hints of white pepper and a crisp, bright finish" and can be found at several Spec's retail store locations in North San Antonio. For more information, visit: (San Antonio Current)
- On Saturday, Dec. 11, all three San Antonio Snooze A.M. Eatery locations will donate 10 percent of their sales to support the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas. The proceeds will benefit the organization's holiday shop, "where children whose parents have died are able to select a gift for their caretaker." If you are not able to visit one of the venues on Saturday, you can instead donate a new stuffed bear to the chain's Teddy Bear Drive during the month of December, and you will receive a free order of pancakes. For more details, visit: (San Antonio Current)
