- To honor the 21 victims killed during the shooting tragedy in Uvalde, the parking garage at the San Antonio Zoo, located at 3903 N. St. Mary's St., is illuminated for 21-nights with Robb Elementary's school colors. For a newscast and video, please visit: (WOAI)
- On Wednesday, May 25 — the day after the shooting tragedy at Robb Elementary School — "two San Antonio food trucks" provided free meals in Uvalde. El Remedio food truck passed out free tacos and beverages, while the Burgerteca truck gave away free food. Also, in San Antonio, Gold Coffee and other coffee shops set up stuffed animal collection drives at various drop off locations for Robb Elementary students. In addition, other food trucks and coffee houses donated all or some of their sales to families in Uvalde, as well as to the Robb School Memorial Fund. For a list with details of organizations supporting Uvalde, please visit: (San Antonio Magazine)
- The Drive Thru Zoo, "which allows guests to visit the 'San Antonio' zoo's biggest animal attractions from inside their own vehicles," is coming back this June! What started out "as a COVID-era alternative to traditional walking zoo trips" in 2020, quickly caught "global media attention" and became so popular that visitors wanted it back! For that reason, guests can experience it again June 6-9 and June 13-16, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday. The cost is $65 per car (or $52 for members) and tickets can be purchased here. (San Antonio Magazine)
- As you celebrate Memorial Day weekend with family, wouldn't it be nice "to add a fluffy ball of four-legged love and affection" to celebrate with? If so, you don't have to look far, as "San Antonio animal shelters" have lots of animals that are "available for adoption!" One adoption agency is the "Footbridge Foundation where Cleopatra the cat is waiting patiently," and there are many more local agencies! Now, if you're not sure that you want to adopt, you may consider becoming a foster. Whatever you decide, Patch and Petfinder can help at: (San Antonio Patch)
- Musical theatre artist, Kristin Chenoweth, will perform at the Majestic Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 1, during "her national For the Girls tour." During her visit, she will perform "covers of songs by influential female artists throughout history" from her "For the Girls" album from 2019, "which debuted at No. 3 on the Current Pop Albums chart and No. 11 on the Billboard Top Albums chart."
