The San Antonio/Bexar County Complete Count Committee To Host #CountMeIn Call-A-Thon

Local elected officials, stakeholders and Census Bureau staff will make calls to residents reminding them to fill out their census.

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio/Bexar County Complete Count Committee, in collaboration with the U.S. Census Bureau, will host the #CountMeIn Call-A-Thon this Saturday in anticipation of the 2020 Census deadline. Local elected officials, stakeholders and Census Bureau staff will make calls to residents reminding them to fill out their census. Residents will also be able to call (210) 207-2020 to get their Census related questions answered or complete the census over the phone.

β€œWe have until September 30th to be counted in the 2020 Census, and while you may be one person, one family, one house, you impact millions of lives in making our community better by being counted. Don't wait until the last day – get counted today,” stated Celina PeΓ±a, Co-Chair of the Complete Count Committee.

The event will feature appearances by local social media influencers Melanie Mendez-Gonzales of QueMeansWhat.com and Stephanie Guerra of PuroPinche.com and community leaders. The event will also feature entertainment from San Antonio’s poet laureate Andrea β€œVocab” Sanderson, LA 45, Simply Rayne and the Los Nauhtlatos.

β€œWe are now in the final stages of having our presence known as residents of San Antonio and Bexar County. By responding to the 2020 Census our response today will impact our community for the decade to come. It’s time, let’s make sure we all get counted,” stated Rebecca Q. Cedillo, Co-Chair of the Complete Count Committee.

The call-a-thon will take place on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event can be viewed live on the City’s website, the City’s Facebook page, channels AT&T 99, Grande 20, Spectrum 21 and digital antenna 16.1.
