Earlier this week, the CDC updated its COVID-19 guidelines, recommending that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask or face covering while indoors in high transmission areas. Due to the number of local active COVID cases, Bexar County has been designated a high transmission area. The change in policy is a direct response to the surge in cases and hospitalizations from the delta variant, which is a more transmissible strain of the virus. Due to this rise in hospitalizations, some of our local hospitals will start limiting patient visitation to only those necessary for patient care.Â
