This legislation will authorize necessary funding to reimburse non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and local communities that offer important humanitarian services for migrants along the U.S. – Mexico border. The funding will allow NGOs, Texans, and citizens of other border states to continue providing compassionate care to migrants that enter our nation.
The number of migrants crossing the US-Mexico border is estimated to be the highest on record in more than 20 years. Increasing financial resources to communities along the border demonstrates the federal government is supportive of these humanitarian efforts and that our immigration system will continue to improve.
