The Chamber’s Cybersecurity Council hosted several guests to highlight some very exciting changes to the San Antonio cybersecurity ecosystem. First, the Council hosted Leslie Chasnoff and Erica Myrick from Chamber member Geekdom. Following Geekdom’s tenth birthday bash on October 22, they launched a new branding campaign and a thorough website redesign. Leslie shared with the council some new developments at Geekdom and a future panel on cybersecurity featuring some industry stars on November 17 at 11 a.m.

The second guest of the Council was new member Cyberlogistix and their founder and CEO, Julian Candia. Julian shared Cyberlogistix key services of selling and supporting hundreds of the best technology vendors on the market, as well as source data, voice, cloud, and managed services from over 250 leading services providers. He also described his special promotions for members of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.
The Council hosted Val Mukerjee, founder and Chairman of the Cyber Future Foundation (CFF). Val explained several exciting initiatives CFF has planned and many of them will involve pilot programs in the Alamo City. CFF holds a large annual international conference each October, during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and San Antonio will host the conference in 2022. Val also described the CFF effort to create a National Cybersecurity Help Desk, which will work with local universities to staff a call center with advanced cybersecurity students to assist small businesses with cybersecurity challenges.

Finally, the Council hosted Rick Lipsey, the President of the Alamo Chapter of AFCEA, a national cybersecurity, IT, and intelligence professional organization. Rick shared the plan for the ALAMO ACE, the biggest regional cybersecurity convention, held every year in San Antonio. The ACE features senior leaders from across the Department of Defense and in the cybersecurity industry. The conference runs from November 15 – 18 at La Cantera.
