SAN ANTONIO (March 24, 2021) — The District 3 team helped distribute 200 meals and fiesta medals this week at the South Side Lions Senior Center and to Our Lady of Angels Senior Center. This was a drive through event and all participants followed COVID-19 safety protocols.

“Our seniors were delighted to receive a fiesta medal along with their regular food distribution this month. Although fiesta has been postponed, our seniors continue to celebrate the traditions that have been taking place in San Antonio for years,” stated Councilwoman Viagran. “We are taking every opportunity we can to engage with and to celebrate our seniors. These are small tokens of appreciation that help continue to build on the relationships that have been made throughout the years.”

Senior Centers are temporarily closed due to the COVID pandemic. All Senior Center members enrolled in the Senior Nutrition Program are receiving meal distributions at the senior centers during the closure. Seniors needing a meal may contact the Department of Human Services senior center nearest to them for services or call 210.207.7172.
