- "Love and Baseball, Love and Baseball, go together like a horse and carriage!" San Antonio native, Steve Acevedo, is making a directorial feature debut with sports rom-com Love and Baseball, a romantic comedy he co-wrote and directed. The film screened at the Dances Film Independent Film Festival "is based on a play of the same name by Jerry Montoya." Starring Max Arciniega and Tate Hanyock, it gears around a couples' love of baseball and their love for each other. A must see film, Love and Baseball by Steve Acevedo, because "you can't have one without the other!" (San Antonio Current)
- Ooh La La! Yee-Haw! An upscale brasserie with a Texas twist roosts in the Dominion neighborhood! The restaurant, located at 23310 W. I-10, Suite 101, is "flanked by a massive metal rooster," so you can't miss it! Tardif's American Brasserie "is the brainchild of French-Mexican chef Jean Tardif, who received classical training at the esteemed Le Cordon in Bleu in Paris." Tardif's idea was "to offer elevated dining without the starched white tablecloths of haute cuisine." Plan to dine at Tardif's American Brasserie when it opens on Friday, Oct. 15, and a Texas bon appétit to you! (culturemap.com)
- San Antonio art gallery Hopscotch, located near Travis Park, will brighten up the fall with a LGTBQ+ installation titled "GAZE." It "will take visitors through a rainbow trip LED light display," encouraging them "to see beyond their own experience and into a future that embraces love and acceptance for all." Salsa Sundays will also return starting Sept. 26, from 2-5 p.m., with Latin jazz music by Jose Amador and his band NATIAO. (mySA)
- Something sweet is happening at the McNay Art Museum! A new exhibit titled "The Art of SA Food" is something that sweet lovers and art lovers alike are sure to enjoy! The exhibit, which "features five San Antonio artists exploring the city's culinary history and culture," runs through Jan. 22, 2022, and tickets are $15-$20 with free admission for kids 12 and under. - San Antonio Metropolitan Health District will be giving $100 H-E-B gift cards as an incentive to get the COVID-19 vaccine. This will be offered at Metro Health vaccination sites for those receiving the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Fully vaccinated individuals or those receiving booster shots do not qualify. There is no age limit, but children between 12-17 "need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian." (KSAT San Antonio)
