San Antonio Department Of Human Services Offers Two More Community Input Opportunities

The City of San Antonio Department of Human Services, in conjunction with the South Alamo Regional Alliance for the Homeless (SARAH), has partnered with Homebase/Center for Common Concerns to conduct an assessment of the current homeless response system, perform a gap analysis, and help develop a 5- to 10-year Homeless Strategic Plan to enhance the City’s current efforts.

As part of the process, local residents are invited to provide input on the strategic planning process during a series of community forums. Four forums were held last week.

Two additional forums will be held this week. The schedule is shown below. Both sessions are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the date indicated:

Monday, February 10

“Homelessness is a complex issue and can be difficult to understand. Ending homelessness is not an easy task. Everyone in the community has a role to play, and we need bring our community together to better understand the problem,” District 3 Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran said. “We invite you to come out, and have these discussions as we work together to put a plan into action to solve homelessness. Together, we can make sure that San Antonio’s values and vision are represented and that your voices are heard to make a safer, stronger community.”
