“We are coming together to help support our community, especially during the holidays. District 3 is proud to have partnered with Ball Academy this morning,” stated Councilwoman Viagran. “No one should experience hunger during the holidays. It is our duty to help where we can as we know so many more families are looking for help this time of year with a meal.”

Many families and children living in our country face food insecurity and hunger daily. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 50 million people may experience food insecurity in 2020, including a potential 17 million children. Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and need to rely on their local food banks and other hunger relief organizations for support.
