“In previous years, District 3 would gather at our community centers and spend quality time with our seniors. This year is much different but we are taking every opportunity we can to make sure we are continuing our traditions, like our flower distribution event - which is a way to celebrate our seniors and show our appreciation,” stated Councilwoman Viagran. “Our seniors were delighted to receive a valentine – it really warmed my heart. Our seniors are truly the heart of our community. It is so important to let them know we are still here and will continue to build our relationships with them.”

Senior Centers are temporarily closed due to the COVID pandemic. All Senior Center members enrolled in the Senior Nutrition Program are receiving meal distributions at the senior centers during the closure. Seniors needing a meal may contact the Department of Human Services senior center nearest to them for services or call 210.207.7172.
