San Antonio Freeman Coliseum Testing Site Booked Through Tuesday; Capacity And Access To Testing Being Increased

SAN ANTONIO (June 20, 2020) — With the number of new cases of COVID-19 surging, the Freeman Coliseum COVID-19 testing site has reached capacity through Tuesday, June 23rd. The registration system has been shut down for the remainder of the weekend and will reopen on Monday, June 22nd to make appointments for later in the week. Residents seeking a COVID-19 test are encouraged to visit COVID19.sanantonio.gov for a list and map of other testing sites throughout Bexar County.

“Although many testing sites are overwhelmed with demand for COVID-19 tests, we are increasing the capacity to test and expanding access to both no-cost and paid testing sites across Bexar County,” said San Antonio Metro Health Director Dr. Dawn Emerick. “If you have health insurance, please call a healthcare provider and save the free tests for those who do not have coverage. Everyone with symptoms should self-isolate and wear a mask until they can be tested.”

The Texas Military Department will be in Bexar County tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. conducting testing at ESD #12, Station 136, at 11800 Hwy 87 E in Adkins TX.

Effective Monday, all public and private testing sites in Bexar County will have the collective capacity to test at least 5,200 people per day. Additionally, walkup testing will be expanded to six days per week, Monday through Saturday. Locations and times of the walkup events will be posted on the City’s website. On Monday, June 22nd through Wednesday, June 24th, walkup tests will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jordan Middle School.

Sitio de Pruebas del Freeman Coliseum Reservado Hasta el Martes; La Capacidad y acceso a las Pruebas ha sido Incrementado

SAN ANTONIO (20 de junio, 2020) — Con el número de nuevos casos de COVID-19 en aumento, el sitio de prueba Freeman Coliseum COVID-19 ha alcanzado su capacidad hasta el martes 23 de junio. El sistema de registro se ha cerrado por el resto del fin de semana y se volverá a abrir el lunes 22 de junio para hacer citas para más adelante en la semana. Se recomienda a los residentes que buscan una prueba COVID-19 a visitar COVID19.sanantonio.gov para obtener una lista y un mapa de otros sitios de prueba en todo el condado de Bexar.
