Since it's October and it's spooky season, how about a book about kids who hunt ghosts? The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud is the first book in the Lockwood & Co series taking place in London, which is being overrun with horrible ghosts. Anthony Lockwood forms an agency of kid ghost hunters to eliminate "The Problem" -- some special kids have the ability to see ghosts! Lockwood, along with fellow ghost hunters Lucy and George, risk their lives time and time again on terrifying missions to rid London of these evil spirits.
