- A new sculpture called Stargazer, or "Citlali" in the Nauhatl indigenous language, was recently added to San Antonio's River Walk Public Art Garden. The 16-foot monumental sculpture created by Mexican artist Pedro Reyes is made of volcanic stone and marble and depicts "a stylized seated female figure gazing at a star-shaped object that she holds between her fingers." Reyes said, "I wanted to offer a work that transcends the relatively recent borders and boundaries we know today to offer an ageless perspective in celebration of San Antonio's more than 300 years of distinctive history and culture." He added, "The star could be a star like the ones that shine over San Antonio each night — the same ones that have been contemplated by all peoples throughout the region's human history, the same ones that inspire awe and wonder as they help us glimpse our place in relation to the universe and time." - Old Fashioned Sticky Buns recently opened at 2317 Vance Jackson Road, in the Dellview area. The menu features breakfast and lunch items, but most popular of all is the unique and delicious sticky bun! Visitors can choose from the classic Old Timer with icing at $4; the pecan sticky bun with pecans and caramel for $6; or the build-your-own cinnamon roll with your choice of vanilla buttercream, chocolate buttercream or peanut butter frosting, and toppings of small candies, fresh fruit and sprinkles. The build-your-own cinnamon bun comes with three toppings of your choice and also costs $6. While guests enjoy their sweet treats, they can sit in comfortable chairs with tables or couches. They can also shop for items such as travel mugs, hats, jewelry and scarves. The venue is open Tuesday-Saturday, from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. For more details visit: (mySA)
