- San Antonio Spurs fans are invited to team up with Spurs legend Tim Duncan to support Black Restaurant Week, which goes on until Sunday, March 6. "Duncan may be well into retirement but he's still racking up wins off the court where it matters the most — serving the community." During that week, he is pledging 21 meals for every special item ordered from participating restaurants' menus, and the meals that he pledges "will be donated to the Food Bank for children in need in partnership with the Tim Duncan Foundation and Valero Energy." In addition to Duncan's support, "Spurs' Lonnie Walker IV is sponsoring 'Hair-athon' where people can get free haircuts" this month. Go Spurs go! (KENS5.com)
- Fiesta season is coming up and although the annual festival's schedule was affected the past two years due to COVID-19, this year "Fiesta will go on at its usual time frame" from Thursday, March 31 - Sunday, April 10. On Wednesday, March 2, the Fiesta commission discussed this year's Fiesta plans during a media day event which was attended by Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Fiesta and military officials. One topic of discussion was a route change for the Battle of Flowers and Fiesta Flambeau parades due to downtown construction. For more information visit: (KSAT San Antonio)
