Technical Difficulty Prompts Text 911 Service To Go Down, San Antonio Police Say
Residents can still dial 911 for emergencies, but emergency texts to police will not be received, officials said.

SAN ANTONIO, TX — San Antonio Police Department officials on Wednesday said their text 911 service was down due to a technical difficulty.
SAPD spokesman Doug Greene told the San Antonio Express-News said residents can still call 911 for emergencies, but the text version was not working.
"If someone attempts to text a request for help to 911, it will not go through," Greene said. "A resolution is being sought as a I type. We will advise as soon as this issue is resolved."
