Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:

  1. Things are pretty peachy at some supermarkets in town! For the first time, Blue Bell ice cream fans can purchase Peachy Peach ice cream at their local grocery store! Carl Breed, Blue Bell general sales manager, said, "Avid Blue Bell fans may recognize Peachy Peach from their local ice cream parlor." He added, "We want to share this delicious flavor with even more people. It is a great addition to our in-store lineup." Peachy Peach "features dreamy peach ice cream studded with chunks of the sweet stone fruit" and comes in half-gallon and pint-size containers. The summertime favorite is available for a limited time only, but please check with your local grocer regarding availability. For more information visit: (San Antonio Current)
  2. The 42nd Annual Tejano Music Awards kicks off at noon on Thursday, March 17 and will go on until Sunday, March 20. The event will feature food, drinks and Tejano clothing for sale from different vendors at San Antonio's Market Square, located at 514 W Commerce St. There will also be meet and greet autograph sessions with favorite musicians during the event. For more details visit: (San Antonio Current)
  3. The Taste of the Republic, which is now an official Fiesta San Antonio event, will kick off on Thursday, March 31, from 5-9 p.m. on the grounds of The Good Kind restaurant, located at 1127 S. St. Mary's St. The event, headed by chef Brian West, showcases "more than a dozen local culinary creators, each tasked with interpreting one of the 'Six Food Republics of Texas,' based on West's Texas Culinary Manifesto" which "divides the Lone Star State into six distinct regions of food cultures." Each region will feature small complimentary bites provided by different chefs, along with beer and wine options. Tickets cost $110 and can be purchased online now at Eventbrite, but you may want to purchase soon as they sell out fast. Proceeds from the ticket sales benefit the Fiesta San Antonio Commission and its 110 organizations. For more details visit: (San Antonio Current)
