- According to "Yelp's list of top 100 places to eat in Texas," 10 of those places are right here in town! Places are chosen based on "ratings and reviews by Yelp users — rankings by everyday diners for everyday diners." Among San Antonio's eateries on the list, one of them is the Comfort Cafe, located at 2015 N.E. Loop 410, which "was listed as the No. 2 place to eat in Texas." Besides a restaurant, it's also a "residential recovery center" called "Serenity Star Recovery" that helps those "struggling with addiction" and serves meals at the restaurant "on a 'pay what you can' basis." For the full list of restaurants on the list visit: (KSAT San Antonio)

- "John Driskell Hopkins, a multi-instrumentalist and founding member of the Grammy-winning Zac Brown Band," born in San Antonio, recently revealed that he has Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). According to the ALS Association, "Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Eventually, the brain loses the ability to initiate and control muscle movement. Patients may lose the ability to speak, eat, move and breathe. There is no cure." Hopkins said, "Because my symptoms have been slow progressing from the start, we believe they will continue to be slow progressing going forward. God willing, I plan to be rocking with these amazing people for many years to come." (Spectrum News)
