Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:
- If you're looking for things to do with family this Thanksgiving weekend, there are many fun and festive things to do in San Antonio! From Christmas tree lighting ceremonies to holiday markets to festive outdoor events, there's something for everyone to enjoy. - KSAT TV and nonprofit Gotcha Covered will hold a collection drive from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Park North Shopping Center, located at 842 NW Loop 410. The drive will benefit the San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope, and the Battered Women and Children's Shelter. Organization founder Howie Nestel said, "San Antonians are the most generous people you will ever meet, and I am asking for your help, so we can deliver hope and healing over the holidays." Some of the items that are needed the most are new or gently used clothing, personal hygiene products and non-perishable foods. (San Antonio Current)
- As you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal with family, so will most city, state, federal and private employees, so many offices services that we usually take for granted will not be open on Thanksgiving Day. Although a few places will operate that day, such as the Magistrate Court and Detention Center, and the VIA Metropolitan Transit public transportation where you can find your route here, most places will be closed.
