🌱 Youth Groups Receive 'Our Tomorrow' Grants + Best Snow Cones?

Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:
- Eleven "youth-led groups from around San Antonio" recently received $43,000 in grants from Up Partnership's youth voice network, Our Tomorrow. The grant initiative is part of "a pilot program meant to advance various community projects" led by the students. According to Lisa Marie Gomez, UP Partnership's vice president of youth voice and restorative justice, the pilot program was created "in response to young people's request to be active participants in creating solutions to challenges in their community." The students and their mentors "are using their project to make an impact in areas, such as mental health and suicide prevention, food insecurity, tax preparation, professional development and cultivation of social skills." - Tickets for Chris Daughtry's performance at the Tobin Center will go on sale on Friday, March 25. Daughtry is "a former American Idol contestant who went on the have a platinum selling recording career." Daughtry and the band that bears his name released a debut album in 2007, which produced "four top 20 hits" and was an "instant big seller." Since then, he "has released six studio albums, with the most recent one released in 2021. Daughtry and his band's performance at the Tobin Center will take place on Monday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. For more details visit: (550 KTSA)
- On Monday, March 21, FOX 29 viewers were asked on social media what their favorite snow cone flavors were, and their responses were pretty interesting! Some flavors mentioned were very unique, such as "half cherry half pickle juice" and "Piccadilly, grape with diced pickles." Others were more original, such as "cherry, orange, strawberry and grape."
