Man Charged In South Austin Bus Stop Killing
Juan Deltoro, 51, has been jailed in connection to the stomping and kicking death of Allen "Popeye" Kiddy, 66, at Redd Street/Manchaca Road.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Austin police on Tuesday identified the victim and suspect in a homicide case centered around a man's beating death at a South Austin bus stop over the weekend.
The incident dates to June 16 just after 8 p.m. at a bus stop on the intersection of Redd Street and Manchaca Road. The dead man was identified by police as Allen "Popeye" Kiddy, 66. Police have arrested Juan Deltoro, 51, in the man's death.
According to a police narrative, officers reported to a disturbance call last Saturday at the bus stop after a caller reported seeing a man beating and kicking another. Upon their arrival, officers saw Kiddy injured on the ground before the man was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Witnesses identified Deltoro as the attacker, leading to his detention on a charge of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. By 1:13 p.m. on Monday, Kiddy succumbed to his injuries. His death was ruled a homicide. Police on Wednesday released a photo of the deceased:
