Austin No. 9 In The Country For Keeping New Year's Resolutions

AUSTIN, TX — Austin is the ninth best city in America when it comes to keeping New Year's resolutions, according to a study by WalletHub. The study took several categories of holding resolutions and ranked 182 cities around the country.

The four categories WalletHub measured were health, school and work, finances and bad habits. Each city was ranked in each category, resulting in a final score. They measured rankings by exploring how easy it is to keep or break resolutions in each city.

If a city has very few gyms, for example, their score for holding true to health-related resolutions is lower. Austin did well in that category, coming in No. 28.

Austin came in No. 60 for ease of keeping financial resolutions, third in the school and work category and No. 57 in getting rid of those bad habits.

School and work played a big role in Austin's good ranking, as it ties for first with five other cities (South Burlington, Vt., Honolulu, Lincoln, Neb., Madison, Wis. and Irvine, Calif.) with the lowest unemployment rate of 2.1 percent.

Seattle took the top spot, followed by San Francisco and San Diego, according to the results of the study.
