Austin Police Seek 2 Drivers In Hit-And-Run Injuring Motorcyclist

Biker was traveling north along South Congress Avenue​ early Sunday when he got hit by one vehicle before his motorcycle was run over.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are looking for two motorists who left the scene of a hit-and-run early Sunday — one motorist who hit a motorcyclist and the other who ran over the fallen bike.

Police told the Austin American-Statesman the motorcyclist was traveling north along South Congress Avenue at around 2 a.m. this past Sunday when a motorist driving a black Lexus turned left onto Stassney Lane. The victim was thrown from his bike when a white SUV ran over the motorcycle.

Both drivers fled the scene. Meanwhile, the victim remains in the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Lexus could potentially be charged with failure to stop and render aid, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
