Austin Police Seek Help In Locating Suspect Exposing Himself To Women

Suspect has exposed himself to women getting outdoor exercise from Sept. 21 to Oct. 1, often using his phone to spotlight his genitals.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the helping in locating a suspect in a series of indecent exposure incidents, officials said Thursday.

Between Thursday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Oct. 1, there have been six incidents of a male suspect exposing his genitalia to women working outside their homes or walking/jogging in the neighborhood, police said. In each case, the suspect is either walking or jogging with a cell phone in hand while trying to get the female victims' attention. Once seen by the victims, the man then has used his phone to illuminate his genitals, police said.

All these incidents have occurred near the area of Manchaca Road and Frate Barker Road, according to police. Five of the reported incidents have occurred in the evening and one at noon. The dates and times of the incident are:

  • 9/21/17 Thursday, 10:30 p.m.
  • 9/26/17 Tuesday, 9 p.m.
  • 9/28/17 Thursday, 12 p.m.
  • 9/28/17 Thursday, 8:30 p.m.
  • 10/01/17 Sunday, 8:15 p.m.
  • 10/2/17 Monday, 9:30 p.m.

The suspect is described as:

  • Hispanic male
  • Late teens to early 30s
  • 180-210lbs
  • 5’8”-5’11”

The man has been seen wearing a baseball cap, shorts, shirt or muscle shirt, socks and dark shoes. Law enforcement officials noted it's possible he has exposed himself to other women who have not filed a police report, urging other potential victims to contact them. Anyone with information about these incidents or have seen someone matching the description are urged to call the Sex Crimes Hotline at 512-974-5095.
