Austin's Palm Elementary School Cancels Classes Monday
Students will not report to the school due to the damage it sustained during Friday's storm.

Classes at Palm Elementary School are cancelled for Monday after the school sustained flood damage during Friday’s storm.
According to the Austin Independent School District, portions of 23 classrooms in the school were flooded with 4-5 inches of water. Renovation crews from the school district began cleanup on Saturday.
The damaged wing of the building has been sealed off and air quality samples were taken Sunday.

Beginning Nov.3, PPCD, Pre-K, kindergarten and first-grade students will report to Palm in the morning and will be transported by the school district to the Allan Center. Students will return to Palm at the end of the day, escorted by AISD. Operations will continue as normal in the undamaged half of the building.
Faculty and staff will be at the campus Monday to prepare for the return of students on Tuesday.

Two parent meetings will be held to share information with parents and to answer any questions. The meetings will be held Monday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
