Police ID Man Found Dead In South Travis County (Update)

Police found the lifeless body of Johnny Cardenas, 31, of Austin. on July 11 along 9800 block of Blocker Lane.

SOUTH TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — Police on Thursday identified the man found dead this week in the southeastern portion of the county.

Just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, Travis County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 9800 block of Blocker Lane to investigate a suspicious odor. Upon further study, police found a body just off the roadway.

The deceased person has been identified as Johnny Cardenas, 31, of Austin.

In a Thursday press advisory, the TCSO said the death appears to be suspicious, and the case will be handled by the homicide unit as a result.

Officials ask anyone with information on the death to call the TCSO Tip Line at (512) 854-1444.

SOUTH TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — A body was found in southeast Travis County, the Travis County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

The body was found at the intersection of Blocker Lane and Von Quintas Road, next to State Highway 130, about two miles southwest of the Circuit of the Americas, according to officials.

The sheriff's office provided no further details, but scheduled a 6 p.m. press conference to give more information. Patch will update as more information is made available.
