SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- St. Edwards University lifted a shelter in place at 2:50 p.m. CT after reports of a man on campus with a stolen gun.
The school was asking for everyone to remain inside with the doors locked until further notice.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 6 inches, with tattoos on his head. He was wearing a black jacket, jean shorts and tennis shoes, the school said. He was last seen near the baseball fields heading west, the school said.

Austin and campus police were on campus with a K-9 unit. The campus was deemed clear and the APD moved its search off campus.
The school released an announcement on their Facebook page regarding a schedule for final exams that were interrupted by the incident.

“As you know, the university sheltered in place today to ensure the safety of our community. We appreciate the timely response within our community to this incident and we thank the Austin Police Department for their swift response to this situation,” the University wrote on social media. ”Given that we are in exams and bringing closure to the semester we understand that today may have brought with it additional anxiety. Now that the shelter in place has been lifted and we are back to our normal activities we would like to invite our students, faculty and staff, to gather and support one another.”
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call 911 immediately.
