Car Slams Into South Austin Oracle Campus
Medics were dispatched just before 2 p.m. to the 2300 block of South Lakeshore Boulevard near East Riverside Drive.
SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — A car slammed into a wall of the Oracle campus in Southeast Austin on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Austin-Travis County EMS officials medics were dispatched just before 2 p.m. to the 2300 block of South Lakeshore Boulevard near East Riverside Drive. The motorist involved was evaluated at the scene, but it's unknown if the person was injured in the crash.
The expansive Oracle campus is on 40 acres of lake-front property in Southeast Austin, a site that once housed an apartment complex inhabited by low-income residents. Those residents were displaced just a few days before Christmas in 2015 after Oracle bought the land, many tenants having to scramble to find alternative schools for their children given the abrupt eviction notice.
