Child Sustains Life-Threatening Injuries In South Austin Crash
3 hurt in early morning collision along 5100 block of Palo Blanco Lane from which driver causing wreck fled the scene.
SOUTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — A child sustained life-threatening injuries in a traffic collision that occurred in the southeast portion of the city Thursday morning.
According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the incident was reported at around 7:30 a.m. along the 5100 block of Palo Blanco Lane near Teri Road. It was there that a brown Toyota car was rear-ended by a black Dodge truck, according to reports.
Three people were injured in the crash, including a child in a car seat left with critical, life-threatening injuries transported to Dell Children's Medical Center for treatment, medics said via Twitter.

The motorist driving the Dodge truck that caused the accident fled the scene, according to police. Law enforcement officials later said in a press briefing they may know the driver's identify, and the motorist faces charges of failure to stop and render at when caught.
