Details are sketchy, and it's unknown if the person drowned, what gender the victim is and whether foul play is suspected.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police have yet to release the name of the person found dead at Lady Bird Lake near Interstate 35 on Tuesday.

A passerby spotted the clothed body lying face down in the water before alerting police. The site of the grisly find is near the 1400 Nash Hernandez SR. Road just before 9:20 a.m., officials said. Police also have not disclosed the gender of the deceased.

Austin police said officers also were investigating at the lake, but they did not immediately provide more information.

The discovery was made the same day a body floating on the surface of Lake Travis was pulled from that body of water. Sheriff's officials later identified that drowning victim as Ricardo Sierra Martinez, 27, of Mexico. Friends had last seen resting on an island after a swim on Sunday before he disappeared some 30 to 45 minutes later.
