Discussion With Trio Of State Reps Scheduled
Texas Tribune hosts state representatives Celia Israel, Eddie Rodriguez and Paul Workman

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX-- The Texas Tribune is hosting a conversation with three Austin state representatives at St. Edward’s University on Thursday as part of its ongoing lecture series.
Serving as panelists for the discussion will be state Reps. Celia Israel, Eddie Rodriguez and Paul Workman. Texas Tribune CEO and editor-in-chief will serve as moderator.
The talk is scheduled to take place from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at the Mabee Ballroom on the third floor of the Ragsdale Center on the university campus. The event is free and open to the public and includes a light lunch.

Organizers of the event expect a standing-room only crowd for the event. Those unable to get in or wishing to watch from the comfort of their homes can watch the discussion via a livestream at texastribune.org.
Those able to attend the event can park their vehicles in the free parking garage or adjacent parking lot located on Woodward Avenue on the southeast corner of campus.

Israel, D-Austin, was elected in 2014 to represent House District 50. She is a member of the House Elections and Transportation committees and serves on the Long-Term Infrastructure Planning Subcommittee. Israel is also a real estate agent with Home and Hearth Realty. She previously served on the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance for Public Transportation.
Rodriguez, D-Austin, has represented House District 51 since 2003. He serves as vice chairman of the House Environmental Regulation Committee and is a member of the Calendars and Economic & Small Business Development committees. He also serves as vice chairman of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus. In addition, Rodriguez sits on the boards of the Capital Area Council of Governments and the Alliance for Public Transportation.
Workman, R-Austin, has represented House District 47 since 2010. He serves as vice chairman of the State & Federal Power & Responsibility Select Committee and is a member of the Insurance and Natural Resources committees. Workman is a retired captain in the U.S. Army Reserves and is the founder of Austin-based Workman Commercial Construction Services, Ltd.
