Fire Breaks Out At South Austin Daycare Center
The small fire that started in the kitchen was quickly extinguished, and two suspects reportedly fled the scene.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- Firefighters on Sunday put out a small fire in the kitchen of the Discovery Years Learning Center in South Austin, according to reports.
The fire broke out at around 3:30 p.m. at the daycare facility located at 1303 W. Slaughter Lane near Menchaca Road. Police said two people reportedly fled the scene of the fire, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Ironically, Sunday was the beginning of Fire Prevention Week, the Statesman noted. The designated week reminds people to check their smoke alarms to make sure they are in working order.
