Group Plans To Give Away 1,000 Shade Trees In South Austin
TreeFollks plans to give away 4,500 shade trees at various events in the fall, beginning in South Austin.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — TreeFolks will be giving away more than 4,000 shade trees at various local events this fall, officials said on their website.
The 4,500, 5-gallon shade trees will be given away at various local events throughout the fall, beginning in South Austin. The first tree giveaway will take place at Sustainable Food Center's Market at Sunset Valley from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 28, according to information found on the organization's website.
The market is staged at the Toney Burger Activity Center located at 3200 Jones Rd. Those wanting a free tree are urged to bring their identification card or utility bill, with trees disbursed on a first come, first serve basis.
