Hours-Long South Austin SWAT Standoff Ends Peacefully
Police tried serving an arrest warrant just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday before sending tactical team to coax resident to surrender.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police placed a man in custody following an hours-long standoff with police in Southeast Austin on Wednesday, according to reports.
Just before 4 p.m., police attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a home along the 5900 block of Wagon Bend without success, according to a report in the Austin American-Statesman. By 6:30 p.m., a SWAT team was called out as further incentive for the man to surrender to police, according to the report.
The standoff concluded by around 8 p.m. without further incident, according to police. It's unclear on what charges the home's occupant was wanted.
