Man Accused Of Shooting Drug Dealer In Southeast Austin Draws Life Prison Term

EAST AUSTIN, TX — The man accused of fatally shooting a drug dealer in East Austin nearly three years ago will spend the rest of his life in prison, according to a recent report.
A Travis County jury on Friday found Gregory Dalton guilty of capital murder after two co-defendants testified against him, the Austin American-Statesman reported. He was sentenced to a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Dalton was charged with shooting Jose Dejesus Chavez after the accused and two other men drove from San Antonio in November 2014 and forced themselves into the dead man's former residence in southeast Austin demanding ecstasy, according to the report.
