Man Allegedly Stabs Girlfriend in Taco Cabana Bathroom
The victim said her boyfriend followed her into the bathroom and stabbed her with a three-inch blade.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX - A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend in the bathroom of a South Austin Taco Cabana.
A restaurant manager reportedly called police Jan. 10 at 3:14 a.m. to report a stabbing incident KXAN reported.
When police arrived they allegedly found 22-year-old Michael Lavern Abresch bickering in the restaurant parking lot with his girlfriend as she held her bleeding arm.

Abresch yelled at his girlfriend that he didn’t do anything wrong as he was being detained and later told police the two had been arguing over a parking spot, according to a police affidavit obtained by KXAN.
Abresch reportedly told police he ate at a separate table from his girlfriend and her friend. He said he went to the bathroom and when he came back his girlfriend’s arm had been cut. He said he helped her and encouraged her to go to the hospital.

Abresch said his girlfriend carries a knife and pepper spray, and may have accidentally cut herself while using the bathroom. Police noted the suspect has blood on his shirt, shoes, and the front and back of his hands, KXAN reported.
His girlfriend on the other hand had a completely different story. She reportedly said Abresch followed her into the bathroom of the restaurant and continued to argue with her as he slid under the stall door.
She reported that once Abresch was in the stall he pushed her and pulled out a knife described as being three inches long, KXAN reported. She said he stabbed her in the arm causing major blood loss.
Police reported in the affidavit that the victim’s wound was about three inches long, matching the description of the knife, KXAN reported.
Abresch was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect had been previously arrested for a separate alleged incident of aggravated assault in July.
