Man Arrested for Stealing Sneakers Worth Over $20,000
The victim's roommate noticed the shoes for sale on Facebook.

A man is facing charges that he stole eight pairs of shoes worth over $20,000 and trying to sell them on Facebook.
Guillermo Ivan Prieto was arrested in connection with a Nov. 2 burglary that took place on the 400 block of Mica Cove, police told KXAN. The victim of the burglary told officers that the burglar likely entered the house through a window that was left unlocked.
Once entering the home Prieto stole eight pairs of basketball shoes worth $21,000, $600 in cash, two bottles of versace cologne and two shirts, police said. The victim told police the burglar likely knew that he owned the shoes.

The victim’s roommate later saw one of the pairs of shoes for sale on Facebook. The victim then set up a meeting to buy the shoes on Nov 5. After meeting Prieto at a Chevron station, he called the police.
Prieto confessed to police that he and two accomplices, one of them the victim’s step-brother, committed the burglary, reported KXAN.

Prieto is currently being held in Travis County jail. His bail is set for $7,500.
