Michael Edward Graves, 46, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for incident at the Crow Bar off South Congress.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — A man was arrested after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife at a popular South Austin bar.
The incident occurred on Dec. 2, but details emerged on Monday via an arrest affidavit. According to police, Michael Edward Graves, 46, pulled a knife on a woman at the Crow Bar on 3116 S. Congress Ave. in an encounter. Graves is said to have fled the scene before he was later picked up by police, according to a report by KEYE-TV.
The victim told police she and a friend were having drinks on the outdoor patio when Graves sat on their table. The Crow Bar across from St. Edward's University has an expansive outdoor seating area featuring wooden picnic-style tables fronting South Congress.

The two women said Graves repeatedly asked them what their names were, prompting one of the women to giggle at the repetitiveness of the question. Graves is said to have become offended by her reaction, rhetorically asking: "You think that's funny?" and pulling out his pocket knife, according to the affidavit.
The woman immediately jumped out of her seat and retreated to an adjacent table occupied by male patrons of the bar before informing a bartender of the incident. He was kicked out by a doorman, ran across the street and clipped by a vehicle before fleeing north.
