Man Hit By Train In South Austin Sustains Life-Threatening Wounds

The man in his 40s was sitting on the railroad tracks for unknown reasons when he was struck late Tuesday.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Tuesday night after being hit by a train in South Austin.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials said a man in his 40s who was sitting on the tracks was hit by a Union Pacific train at about 11:15 p.m. The collision occurred near the intersection of Richmond and Lansing Drive, EMS officials said.

The man was taken to St. David's South Austin Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
