Man On Ledge Over Highway Leads To Closed Traffic Lanes In South Austin

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX -- All lanes of traffic on Ben White Boulevard at Interstate 35 in South Austin were closed Monday afternoon as a man stood on a ledge above the highway, officials said.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. rush hour traffic at Ben White at Interstate 35. The man was standing on the ledge of the flyover above the highway, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Emergency first responders were able to eventually pull the man to safety.

The unidentified man was being evaluated after the incident. Police didn't release details as to what may have led the unidentified man to stand on the ledge.
